Introduction:
It’s part of the journey of life, to reflect on how we can really live out our best lives. What does this look like? Luckily for us, we can look to our grandmother for inspiration as someone we deeply admire. As she approaches 90, Patti is still extremely active, most significantly - she’s still voraciously creating and putting her work into the world. Her latest series are cards made out of gems - meticulously designed coloured crystals stuck onto a card in the shapes of plants, rangolis and other shapes.
My son quite literally squealed with glee when he saw them, and keeps them hidden for his own secret delight in his ‘treasure drawer’. Rewinding further back, the sheer breath & quality of her creations are quite staggering - there are pleasing symmetrical rangoli designs, bold batiks, and traditional drawings and paintings.
What makes this prolific production particularly impressive is how she has made time for it all - she has somehow managed to squeeze all this in between raising 4 children, 8 grandchildren, running a successful food business, and maintaining a home with a kitchen that flowed out with food. While we admire the output of her work on these pages, we’d encourage you to make time for the things you love.
